Job Description

As an HR Business Partner you bring broad skills to the teams and programs you’re embedded on. You will report to the Director, HRBP EMEA and will be an integral part of our EMEA People Team, consisting of HR Operation, Talent Acquisition, People Programs, D&I & HRBP teams. You will be based in our Berlin Esports office.

You are the go-to resource for all things related to talent, ranging from performance management to total rewards. You are a culture promoter and a deployer of tools and programs that turn Rioter potential into performance and results. You’re undaunted by titles and can partner with anyone at any level to help with decisions and you know how to achieve results that make an impact. You listen to others and are sensitive to any communication style, and that makes it easy for anyone to talk to you; others trust you and feel comfortable coming to you with all the info, so any rising problems can be tackled proactively.

You will report to the Director, HRBP

  • EMEA People and this role is based within the Berlin office.


  • Work with the Esports Leaders Team in Berlin to provide strategic business partnership.
  • Partner with and advise managers on all things Rioter-related, such as performance management, development & coaching, employee relations, leveling & compensation processes.
  • Build linkages and alliances with other disciplines across the HR function to ensure alignment around implementation of HR processes in the business.
  • Promote change by providing guidance to managers, and implementing change programs, legislation, our HR policies and regulations.
  • Coach and consult with all managers to promote engagement and a continuous improvement mindset following Riot’s culture.
  • Conduct investigations in response to employee complaints and working with our Rioter Relations partners, help to solve employee relations issues
  • Ensure compliance to support employment legislation

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in an HR generalist/business partner or specialist role with progression
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Organizational Design or relevant field; or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, consulting and collaboration experience
  • Goal orientated with a strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, and analysis
  • Experience working with or supporting diverse communities
  • Ability to regularly context shift in a heavily matrixed environment
