As a Project Manager @ESL, you will manage and expand the events arm of our global merchandise & brand licensing business, which includes a rich esports portfolio across premium apparel, accessories, hardware & collectibles. You will be responsible for the end-end planning, execution, management & analysis across more than 13 esports events per annum globally. The role will expand into Retail as you grow and expand the business. Your objective will be to provide a best-in-class fan experience, as well as drive commercial growth, working closely with the department head, internal stakeholders, and external agencies and suppliers.

The Project Manager, Sony will directly support our ESL relationship with Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). You will be responsible for managing the relationship with Sony as it relates to tournaments on the PlayStation platform including collaboration across various departments within Sony and ESL. The Project Manager assists in upholding technical, and budgetary standards for our projects. Together with our team, you will strive to create legendary esports moments for our clients, audience, and participating pro gamers.

The ideal candidate will reside in the San Francisco Bay area with the ability to work onsite in the SIE office, however, remote candidates will also be considered with their commitment of traveling to the SIE office at regular intervals.

**This is a temporary contract position. The length of the contract is tentatively set for 1 year.

What you’ll do:

  • Primary point of contact with SIE for ESL tournaments
  • Facilitate tournament format recommendations and rules generation between SIE and ESL
  • Reporting on ESL activities including marketing activations and broadcast performance
  • Facilitate ESL testing on title integrations
  • Adhere to ESL asset requirements and insure proper and timely delivery of assets
  • Oversite and tracking of prizing and delivery
  • Be the brain of the project – ensure that the right stakeholders have the right information and resources at the right time in order to work towards a common goal
  • Assist in creating scopes of work and project budgets with client input and our sales team
  • Plan and execute live events in various off-site event locations and in our studios
  • Liaise with all project stakeholders and departments (producers, social media, League Operations, event management, etc) to host unforgettable events
  • Manage project budgets and expenses in real-time
  • Support international teams on global project deliveries
  • Support the development and execution of marketing and social media strategies for projects
  • Create timelines, deliverables, and goals for your project and hold others accountable for their deliverables

What you need:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Project Management, Product Management, Event Management, or another related field within the tech, gaming, broadcasting, production, entertainment, event, or sports industries
  • Basic understanding of esports and gaming titles, league structures and game formats. Ability to familiarize yourself with different gaming communities
  • Ability to manage project in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills as well as accurate and clear communication to supervise, facilitate, motivate and inspire a highly diverse group of employees
  • Must be proficient in operating Microsoft Office suite, as well as Google products (Drive, Docs, etc).
